Jaws is breaking all box office records in 1975 to become the highest grossing film of all time. It is also making tourist afraid to go in the water. However, these records will soon be surpassed by Star Wars in 1977. In music, disco is king. The United States celebrates its bicentennial in 1976. Meanwhile, on the west coast, the personnel computer (pc) is becoming a reality. 1975 - 1977 Bill Gates & Paul Allen: (1975) They create & sell their first product. They develop a BASIC computer language for the Altair 8800. The trade name "Microsoft" is registered in 1977.
