America is still recovering from Watergate and the Vietnam War. Gerald Ford takes over as President of the United States, but loses to a Georgian Democrat by the name of Jimmy Carter in the 1976 election. Jaws is breaking all box office records in 1975 to become the highest grossing film of all time. It is also making tourist afraid to go in the water. However, these records will soon be surpassed by Star Wars in 1977. In music, disco is king. The United States celebrates its bicentennial in 1976. Meanwhile, on the west coast, the personnel computer (pc) is becoming a reality.
